Position Overview 

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Heavy Haul Truck Driver to join our team. This role demands a dependable and professional driver with a strong commitment to safety, operational expertise in heavy haul and low boy transport, and a proven clean driving history. 

This position involves transporting oversize loads efficiently and safely while adhering to all DOT regulations. Operating in a zero-tolerance drug-free workplace, our ideal candidate demonstrates integrity, precision, and the ability to handle demanding responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities 

• Transport heavy and oversize loads using a Class A CDL vehicle with precision and safety. 
• Utilize verifiable heavy haul and low boy equipment for efficient transit of materials and equipment. 
• Strictly comply with and maintain adherence to all DOT regulations, safety standards, and company policies. 
• Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance. 
• Maintain accurate logs for hours of service, inspections, and load details for record-keeping purposes. 
• Operate vehicles and equipment while prioritizing safety, quality, and customer satisfaction
   

Qualifications 

• Class A CDL Certification with verifiable heavy haul experience (minimum of 5 years). 
• Demonstrated expertise in heavy haul trucking and low boy hauling. 
• Clean driving record:
  • No major moving violations within the last 3 years. 
  • No DUI/DWI convictions in the last 7 years. 
• Must be insurable with a spotless driving history. 
• Familiarity with safety protocols and commitment to a drug-free environment with zero tolerance for violations. 
• Ability and willingness to undergo background checks, drug testing, and routine medical examinations. 
• Strong work ethic, dependability, and a focus on efficient transport operations.

Purpose

To prepare and manipulate heavy equipment to ensure the appropriate movement of materials. Operators must conduct their duties in a safe, diligent manner at all times. Operators monitor workflows and suggests alternatives to enhance productivity, as needed.

Responsibilities

• Maneuvers motorized heavy equipment to ensure the accurate removal and placement of materials.
• Observe stipulated safety codes at all times
• Report injuries and equipment damage to management
• Inspect trucks, excavators, bulldozers and other heavy equipment for proper performance
• Operate bulldozers, excavators, articulated dump trucks, scrapers, and other equipment
• Drive pick-ups, flatbeds, and water trucks as needed
• Set up and maintain erosion control
• Set up and maintain traffic control
• Check and maintain grade stakes
• Provide general maintenance of equipment and tools
• May be required to do general office work, shop work, or housekeeping

Purpose

To assist in general operations of a construction job site. A crewman will be responsible for traveling to a job site and working with fellow crewman and operators on various construction tasks.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operate small equipment such as a skid steer, roller, or power broom
• Load and unload material
• Set up and maintains erosion control
• Use hand tools
• Check and maintains grade stakes
• Set up and maintains traffic control
• General maintenance of equipment and tools
• Minor equipment repairs
• Job site cleaning
• Observe stipulated safety codes at all times
• Report injuries and equipment damage to management
• May be required to do general office work, shop work, or housekeeping

DESIRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS

• Ability to extensively understand engineered drawings, blueprints
• Aptitude with computers, internet, MS Office, CAD
• Previous experience estimating projects up to $5 million range
• Experience using estimating software and spreadsheet design
• Ability to travel, work extended hours and some weekends
• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management or related field preferred or 3 years of equivalent experience
• Strong organizational, professionalism, verbal and written communication skills
• Good time management skills and ability to multitask
• Ability to work in an office and in the field in a fast paced environment
• Possesses critical thinking skills and is attentive to detail

Purpose

To estimate work required for particular public and private construction projects by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents. The construction estimator will estimate labor, material, and time requirements in order to be able to compute the overall cost of a project.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Review and understand proposals, estimates, plans, specifications, permits, and related contract documents; analyzing labor, material, equipment, and time requirements.
• Quickly and with precision perform quantity takeoffs, develop subcontractor work parameters and review pricing.
• Draft accurate and well organized cost estimates for the entire scope of work according to standards and specifications.
• Develop skills to communicate with general contractors, subcontractors, and vendors on a daily basis and learn to collaborate with engineers, municipalities, and project representatives.
• Maintain continual communication with the customers, suppliers, and subcontractors.
• Create project schedules.
• Organize subcontractors quotations, negotiate to ensure quotes meet contract documents.
• Meet with potential clients and professionals as required to discuss option for proposed services.
• Provide and maintain unit pricing and database for material and labor costing.
